Our guest artist for April is Jennifer Carll-Simon!

Jennifer Carll-Simon is the Creativity Coordinator at Acorn Village in Quinton, NJ. She recently retired after 26 years as the art teacher at the Stow Creek-Greenwich Partnership Schools. Jennifer is the former creative director and owner of Signed by Jennifer, a custom sign painting company. She is an award winning prop artist, creating items for Off Broad Street Players, Cumberland Regional High School, and other area theatre companies. In her current position, she designs and teaches craft classes to adults and children. Jennifer is passionate about art and creativity and loves sharing her talents and skills with others!

We are very excited to welcome Pat Ahearn from Hob Hollow Productions! Pat has many years of experience creating and performing with puppets of all kinds! He’s developed characters for “Frozen”, “Shrek”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, and “The Little Mermaid”, just to name a few! Pat will guide participants in making a simple puppet using found objects, and give tips on how to make that puppet come to life! Join us on March 27 from 1:00-3:00!

If the idea of yoga makes you nervous, worry not! Marghi Insigneras, our guest instructor, works with all ages, levels, and bodies! She’s been teaching since 2016 and loves helping people discover yoga and how it can strengthen their bodies and minds. I’m super awkward and have terrible balance, but I still love putting in time on the mat because I feel how much it helps me! And the great thing about a Zoom class is that we can turn off our cameras and no one can see if we wobble! Be sure to register NOW!

We are so excited to be able to present our Winter Workshops via Zoom! Of course, we’d much rather be together in person, but let’s make theatre happen however we can! Check out the roster of events here on our page and click on over to register! Can’t wait to see you!

Center Stage Kids was off to a great start with our January and February workshops! Then March and shutdown came-so we needed some time to regroup. We were able to bring some theatre fun in May with an online costuming workshop. And best of all, we were able to hold our summer camp, although in a very different format!

ZOOM-er camp allowed us to meet and create theatre magic with ten kiddos who displayed great talent, responsibility, and creativity as we prepared and presented a show completely online!

We aren’t sure what’s next for CSK-we hope meeting in person will happen soon. But rest assured that we will be finding ways to continue bringing fun and training to all our Center Stage Kids!

July 8 is when the MAGIC begins! We are so excited to see some new faces, greet old friends, and start production of our show, “Dear Edwina, Jr”! I’ve been listening to the music for the last few days and the tunes are so infectious. We are going to have lots of fun with this show! We have room for a few more young performers-register today!
